The importance of art in teacher education lies in its ability to develop essential skills for teaching and learning. Art, by integrating creativity, communication, and critical thinking, enriches the educational process and contributes to the emotional and intellectual growth of future educators. The objective has been to analyze the relevance of art in teacher education and its contribution to the development of pedagogical competencies and the improvement of the teaching-learning process. A quantitative approach was used to evaluate the perception of art among students and teachers in training, revealing that a vast majority consider art to be crucial in their education and pedagogical practice. However, challenges such as a lack of resources and institutional support were also identified, which could limit the effective integration of art into education. The triangulation of data shows a consensus on the importance of art, confirming its essential role in the development of pedagogical competencies and in the comprehensive training of teachers, concluding that art not only enriches the curriculum but also facilitates a more dynamic and adaptive teaching approach, aligned with contemporary educational needs and contexts.
