Data Availability Statement

The journal YUYAY recommends that authors deposit the data obtained from the research conducted for the preparation of their article in recognized repositories, whether specific to the discipline or generalist, provided that personal and sensitive data are protected. The aim of this policy is to promote scientific development and ensure that research can be validated, replicated, and analyzed for other studies. To achieve this, it is necessary that all data used be available without access restrictions.

To this end, the journal adopts the term research data as defined by institutions such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH, 2003) and the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD, 2007):

“… any material that has been recorded during research, recognized by the scientific community, and serves to certify the results of the conducted research […] which must come from a unique source,” for example: sample size calculations, survey guides, interview formats, observations, primary data obtained, statistical processing, among others.

The chosen repository must be FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and open access. For its selection, authors are encouraged to consult the Registry of Research Data Repositories: https://www.re3data.org/, keeping in mind that each repository has its own deposit rules.

At present, regardless of the type of article, authors are required to provide a Data Availability Statement in line with the different scenarios described below:

  1. Data Availability Statement: The author(s) declare that no data are associated with the article.
  2. Data Availability Statement: The author(s) declare that the data used in the study/research are available within the article content.
  3. Data Availability Statement: The author(s) declare that the data used in the study/research cannot be made publicly available for the following reasons: [state the reasons why the data are not public].
  4. Data Availability Statement: The author(s) declare that the data used in the study/research are freely accessible without restrictions for analysis by interested parties in the repository: [provide the URL of the public repository].
  5. Data Availability Statement: The author(s) declare that the data will be available upon request, and interested parties must: [indicate the procedure to request the data]. The data are not public for the following reasons: [also include the reasons why the data are not public].
  6. Data Availability Statement: The author(s) declare that no original data were generated during the study/research and that all data originate from the following source: [the source must be adequately cited], which can be contacted via: [indicate how to contact the data owners].

The journal YUYAY follows the FAIR principles: “as open as possible, as closed as necessary”. Therefore, authors must provide a URL or link to a recognized international data repository or, at a minimum, to an institutional or personal repository where reviewers and international experts evaluating the manuscript can access and validate the conducted research, review, or reflection.
