Abstract

The present article is a search for and interpretation of the term "Pathosformel," integrating it and contributing to the field of sound studies. A proposal is formulated to use a "sonic Pathosformel" that, through its own methodology, helps to understand the relationship that the listener has with their environment, personal codes, affections, and passions. We begin with the questions: What happens when the idea of Pathosformel is applied to the realm of sound studies and listening? What occurs with those everyday sounds that remind us of and connect us to other moments and spaces?
