Author Guidelines

All contributions to the journal are subject to match control. Articles and essays are sent directly to peers if they pass the first filter. In the case of "creative work and/or product" and "multidisciplinary analysis and discourses" (the types of work that are included in this methodology are detailed in the Focus and Scope section), the issue coordinators will review their relevance and make suggestions for submission to peers in the journal's database, allied institutions or referred by the issue coordinator. Only in the aforementioned cases, the processing from acceptance to the "double anonymous peer review" could be shorter than the declared time (16 weeks). In this process, it is examined whether the document meets the necessary scientific qualities to be published and/or disseminated, considering the subject matter of the issue and adjustments declared by the coordinator.

Artículos

Papers are submitted using the Open Journal System (OJS), where the author must upload the following information:

  1. a) Anonymized manuscript;
    b) Charter of originality and copyright and;
    c) Biography of the authors.

When the submission is complete, the receipt of the submission is immediately confirmed by the email address registered by the author.

Documents classified as articles report research results and are structured under the IMRyD model, which corresponds to the acronym formed by the terms: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion.

Manuscripts presented at meetings and conferences do not necessarily qualify as a scientific article, as they do not conform to the required objectives and structures. For this reason, it is recommended that if you do not comply with the IMRyD feature, you use the other sections presented by the journal. The papers presented in "articles" especially note the importance of the work having the problem posed and a plan to achieve the objective of study. The absence of these can invalidate all the information and become a cause for rejection.

Its length must be between 3000 and 4500 words in the main text, excluding title, summary, abstract, references, tables and figures. It can have a maximum of 10 tables and/or figures. Qualitative or mixed studies may have a length of up to 5500 words.

Entrevistas

In this section you can present a conversation with a theorist or artist linked to the themes of the journal.

Their acceptance depends on the number coordination and whether or not the interview conforms to the stated policies.

This section is open only under special issues and the interviews will be analyzed according to strict rules and criteria that guarantee the relevance of the interviews.

The interviews that are published must be accompanied by the Justification and Methodology (qualitative) for conducting them. This is sent in a separate document for review by specialized external parties.

The extension is decided by the number coordination and is declared publicly if the call is opened.

Misceláneas

In this section you can present a brief bibliographic review of the work of theorists or artists linked to the themes of the journal.

Their acceptance depends on the number coordination and whether or not the interview conforms to the stated policies.

This section is open only under special issues and the interviews will be analysed according to strict rules and criteria that guarantee the relevance of the interviews.

The Miscellaneous Papers that are published must be accompanied by the Justification and Methodology (quantitative and qualitative depending on the type) for the development of the written work. This is sent in a separate document for review by specialized externals who are previously instructed by the particularities of the number that can be developed.

The issue published by Miscellaneas will be dedicated solely to the publication of Miscellaneous as a special issue. The review of the contents may reveal other theoretical-experimental work methodologies that are alien to the hegemonic standards of scientific research.

Essay

The ELSEVIER research network defines that a scientific essay "is a relatively brief writing, dedicated to a specific topic that implies its deepening, discernment, and synthesis, where the author expresses his idea or point of view, from an objective information collected and previously presented".

In short, an essay-type article is a writing in which the author  presents their ideas in an organized way, or a composition where the author exposes their personal interpretation on a particular topic.

Clarifications: IT HAS THEMATIC FREEDOM; A trial can deal with any aspect; In our case, any scientific topic. The content, therefore, can be very varied, but always highlighting its originality. That is, it can be a topic already treated by other authors, but of its own content, unpublished.

It is recommended (as a general rule) to have a minimum of 2,500 words and a maximum of 25 pages (not including the bibliography). The minimum bibliography for the 2,500 words is 15 references [maximum 1 self-reference] (as available with its respective DOI). If it extends beyond that minimum, the number of references increases by the same degree of proportionality [in the same proportion of self-references].

For this, it is recommended to follow the following structure determined and published by ELSEVIER as a reference of the dissemination research model:

  • Title: it is the heading of the text; it has to be striking, and at the same time indicative, to indicate what aspects / topic is going to be treated in the essay.
  • Approach/thesis: it can have several forms, depending on the purpose of the essay: if we seek to test a new hypothesis or refute an existing one; if we simply want to comment or explain an existing problem; or if we want to propose a new conjecture. It is mandatory to use, otherwise the test superstructure would be damaged.
  • Development of the idea / Idea Rehearsed: its purpose is to give the relevant explanations, for the fulfillment of the thesis; for this, extensive argumentative paragraphs are used (each one affects an idea within the essay), transition paragraphs (between argumentative paragraphs) that serve as a connection or recapitulation of ideas,  linguistic connectors, and  concrete examples / references  Bibliographic.
  • Conclusion: with it we define  the deductive essay (if we use it to highlight the thesis, which has already been exposed and argued previously),  and the inductive essay (if we use it to, as a result of the thesis  or initial approach, and subsequent argumentation, affirm a new thesis that serves as a culmination of what we have been explaining).
  • Bibliographic information: all those referenced in the document, always following the criteria for their correct writing (APA 7).

Creative work and/or product

The objective of this exercise is to provide this platform for the presentation of other methodologies from the arts that do not necessarily fit the model of articles or essays attached to the rigor of academic-scientific production. We recognize the value of creative-cultural content and that this, in most of its manifestations, analyzes educational reforms, research practices, management, production and creation from, for and through the arts, with proposals for reflections (experimental or first-person essay), results of processes (article type but with emphasis on fieldwork),  narration of pedagogical experiences (class models, logs, archives, portfolios, curatorships), works of artistic creation with their respective work statements (illustration, painting, proposals for new media, etc.). All these alternatives as options to be included as theoretical-practical approaches, research and teaching creation at the different educational levels (formal and non-formal).

As a general rule, the inclusion of an abstract and the detail of the type of work are recommended. If it is original or has been disseminated in physical spaces (theatrical, pictorial or sculptural works). The submission of bibliography is not mandatory, but it is recommended for the evaluation of specialized artists. For this section, we rely on specialized national and international reviewers.

Analysis and multidisciplinary discourses

The "Multidisciplinary Analysis and Discourses" section is an alternative based on innovation for the presentation of highly rigorous academic material that does not equal the complexity of the scientific article (due to its length) but that does recognize other forms of writing-research from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Its main objective is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of different scientific approaches to address complex problems and promote a comprehensive understanding of the phenomena studied.

This section will welcome contributions involving the combination of theories, methods, and approaches from multiple disciplines. We are looking for articles that present research that not only highlights the diversity of perspectives, but also actively integrates these approaches to generate an enriched and contextualized analysis.

The following types of contributions will be accepted:

  • Multidisciplinary Research Articles.
  • Systematic reviews that integrate results from various disciplines.
  • Theoretical essays that address topics from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Submission Requierements:

Authors should provide a clear rationale for the choice of a multidisciplinary approach, describing how the combination of disciplines contributes to the deepening and breadth of the research. Manuscripts should include an explicit section highlighting the integration of approaches and how this enriches the understanding of the problem addressed.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Collaboration between authors from different disciplines is encouraged. Collaborative studies involving experts from various fields will be considered positively during the review process.

Final Note:

This section seeks to promote innovation and a more complete understanding of the phenomena studied through collaboration and the integration of knowledge from various disciplines. We invite researchers to contribute their multidisciplinary work and to actively participate in the interdisciplinary dialogue that characterizes this section of our journal.
