Synopsis

Pedagogical Perspectives: Developing Competencies for the Digital Age, by Jorge William Tigrero Vaca, invites readers to rethink teaching amid the fourth industrial revolution. Drawing on his trajectory as a scholar-practitioner and his experience with IBERCIENCIA–OEI, Tigrero aligns curriculum design, instructional resources, and Virtual Teaching–Learning Environments to narrow the sociotechnical gap without fetishizing technology: interactivity and feedback function as means to enhance learning, not as rhetorical pyrotechnics.

The volume assembles essays and field-tested practices validated through double-blind peer review, ensuring rigor while preserving the author’s voice. In dialogue with Ávila and Cedillo, it foregrounds the effective weight of didactic materials and outlines a concrete pathway for teachers and learners—of any age—to transition from orality and print to the digital intangible with discernment, ethics, and pedagogical intent.

Audience. Pre-service and in-service teachers, academic leaders, curriculum designers, and communities implementing VLE/EVA.
Contribution. A clear conceptual framework, actionable strategies, and a critical stance: from the homo typographicus to the networked citizen who learns, creates, and evaluates online.
