Synopsis

The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI), from its early steps at the end of the 20th century to the current innovations, has profoundly transformed numerous aspects of our lives, including education. From the development of algorithms that led to tools like Netflix in 2007 and later Facebook, to more recent milestones like the emergence of ChatGPT in 2018, AI has demonstrated immense potential to personalize learning, optimize teaching, and expand access to education. This issue of YUYAY focuses on exploring how AI, driven by advances such as GPT-3, is redefining educational processes and teacher training, while also raising technical, ethical, and pedagogical challenges that require a multidisciplinary approach.

The articles selected in this edition address the intersection between AI and education from various disciplines, including Science, Law, and Markets. For example, the article "Effective Strategies for Guided Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in General Unified Baccalaureate Programs" explores effective strategies to integrate AI into educational programs, highlighting its potential to transform high school teaching. In "Optimizing the Effectiveness of Chat GPT’s Feedback on ESL Student's Written Productions," the analysis focuses on how AI-based tools can enhance foreign language teaching by providing precise and tailored feedback to meet each student's needs.

This edition includes an analysis of "Brand Positioning for Packaged Natural Juices in the City of Cochabamba," which applies AI techniques to understand and improve product positioning in specific markets, demonstrating the versatility of these technologies in different contexts. Additionally, reflections on the ethical and social use of AI in education are highlighted, emphasizing the need to adopt a critical and collaborative perspective to address emerging challenges.

This issue also emphasizes the importance of teacher training in AI, presenting practical experiences and case studies that illustrate how educators can effectively and ethically incorporate these technologies into their pedagogical practices, ranging from research methodologies to technical proposals for implementing open-access software for public use. In this way, the issue coordination team took advantage of the declared "vacancy" call to merge research aspects that gather experiences from Science, Law, Markets, and pedagogical principles. The selected articles promote more inclusive, equitable, and student-centered education, highlighting digital literacy as a key competency in today's world.

Together, this edition of YUYAY invites readers to reflect on the opportunities and challenges that AI presents for education. By combining multidisciplinary approaches and ethical perspectives, the goal is to build a more inclusive, equitable, and student-centered educational future in an increasingly digital world.
