Abstract

Throughout this essay, the investigative reflections of the application of a training plan for teachers of the Educational Unit "17 de ABRIL" are presented, where the implementation of innovative strategies to improve the learning of sixth grade students in mathematics was reflected. The importance of using active methodologies and gamification for the development of mathematical logical thinking in students is highlighted. The objective of this work is to emphasize that current education must address the current trends and concerns of students, who are considered as Digital Natives, that is, young people born, raised and educated in technological environments that establish activities of entertainment, dynamism and participation. The reflection contained in this document suggests that students expect their participation to be promoted, to be motivated and come with incentives, that is, to leave the negative and boring connotation of homework to how great it is to overcome their own challenges using scoring-reward-objective systems that generally form the dynamics of the game,  maximizing results obtained and study time, faculties that offer active methodological strategies which could present quantifiable results after two ordinary academic periods (teaching periods).
